My name is Timothy, I’m 24 years old and I’m from Northern Rivers in NSW, Australia, but I was born in New Zealand and grew up in a town called Timaru, which has the best skatepark in the world (totally unbiased opinion).

I love skateboarding, playing guitar, making music, and of course, making games.

My Game Dev Background
I’ve been developing games for over a decade now. I mostly work alone, so I do a bit of everything: art, design and code.

I started making games when I was 13, starting out I made 2D pixel-art games with GameMaker: Studio.

When I was 15 I picked up Unity, I used the internet to learn how to program C#, make 3D models with Blender. All the software and learning resources I used were freely avaliable on the internet, I was a very self driven kid.

At 16, I released my first commercial game on Steam: Jumps, a first-person 3D platformer with 60+ levels. It was a great success, selling thousands of copies and igniting my dream of making indie games for a living.

When I was 20 I moved to Brisbane for my first industry job at Protostar Games, a mobile game focused studio founded by former Halfbrick devs Matt Knights and Dean Loades. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at Protostar and I became a much better programmer thanks to these guys.

I spent 15 months working at Protostar and then got an offer to work at Toast Interactive, where I helped build their VR Platformer “Max Mustard“ for 9 months.

Over time, I got really frustrated with working full time on other peoples games well my game projects gathered dust. So I decided to move back home, work a part time job so I would have more time to pursue my game dev business, Kiwiforge.

I’m now 24, working on releasing my next game: GOPOGO, a multiplayer 3D Platformer where you play as a little frog on a pogostick in a big world. The Demo just released recently! GOPOGO Demo on Steam
